During meetings in late 2015, the NWD Advisory Committee achieved a consensus for the mission and vision of the NWD Network:

The mission of the NWD Network is to support all individuals with long term services and supports needs to make informed choices about their supports so they can lead meaningful lives. 

The vision is to develop the NWD Doors into a fully coordinated, integrated and person-centered system of long term services and supports for all individuals of all ages, all disabilities and all payers. This includes four primary objectives:

1. Establish a network of integrated and coordinated Doors
2. Develop the capacity to support all populations
3. Develop universal Person-centered counseling
4. Secure sustainable funding to continue these efforts beyond the three-year plan
